How Big Are The NBC Studios At 30 Rock?
When I saw the Seth Meyers debut Monday night, I wondered why they had not gone with a bigger set, but I had forgotten that with 8H taking up 10,000 square feet of that floor, 8G is actually considerably smaller that the 6th floor studios.
Yup. 8H is massive. The rest, surprisingly small. Every inch is used. Especially when an audience is there.
Interestingly, it appears that it was slightly larger when it was constructed based on these floor plans: http://imgur.com/a/CEWYB#2
Thanks to the person who I can’t remember who linked to one of these images before. I was able to find the whole article and extract the plans.
I had once thought that 8G was the 2nd largest studio, but it is not. It’s not even 3rd. The 2nd largest is in fact Studio 6B. Studio 8G is 30 ft shorter than 6B!
Small spaces and wide angle lenses-that’s the way TV works.
