On Location…
Taking a breather between scenes, Batman and Robin plan their moves in the Batmobile before the director calls “Action”. It aired on ABC for three seasons from January 12, 1966 to March 14, 1968. The show was aired twice weekly for its first two seasons, resulting in the production of a total of 120 episodes.
Who is the lady with the kid on her lap?
Glenn, This was a program that a family could actually watch together. It’s scary what parents watch with their kids today.
I saw the various Batmobles (and Dukes of Hazard cars) when I visited Warner Brothers in Burbank.
good!!
thinks this still might be from the Batman feature film that commenced production immediately after the show’s first season.
Boy would I like to own that cape & cowl!
To the left of the non-reflex Mitchell 35mm BNC, the man in the grey and black jacket is Director of Photography, Howard Schwartz, ASC. He was very encouraging and kind to any newbie film person. He helped me get my start in Holly wood and I will be forever grateful for that. The man on the ground to the left of Howard is his long time gaffer, Bill Neff. Bill was an electrician on “Citizen Kane!” I knew the operator’s name at one time but it escapes me now. I have not a clue who the assistant is. Final thought, I did a silly Nickelodeon promo one day with Adam West in the late ’80’s. It was pretty nutty as I recall.
I recall that the outdoor Batmobile scenes were filmed in and around a highway tunnel near Bryce Canyon.
My favorite show from age 3 to age 5, watching it with my folks in primetime. Watch on Saturday nights now on MEtv.
Same Bat time same Bat channel tune in next week when……..
Loved it. Still do.
