Ampex VR-2000…..I remember those rigs. Had to pull the electronics out of the cabinet when the AC started having problems, and we would bring in some window fans to stay on the air. You didn’t want the tape to fly loose when in rewind because the end of the videotape would whack out the spinning recording heads.
And I know the guy who’s butt you see in this picture. My favorite from the era was a bumper sticker I produced, “Real Editors don’t preview their edits”.
