Here’s a cameraman at CBS Television City getting ready for the opening shot of ‘Art Linkletter’s House Party’. At show time, the red chase lights come on. The camera is the RCA TK11.
Does anyone know when the dress code for technicians on stage went from jacket and tie/dresses to t-shirts and jeans?
There was an air of importance and respect that I remember as a kid going to a show seeing the people so well dressed.
Same can be said for audiences dressed for the event rather than t-shirts and shorts.
Tony Verdi when he was directing at NBC Chicago had a little song that went “High on the left/ Low on the right/ turn it counter-clockwise/ put it in the light”

When I entered the Broadcasting & Film program at U of Iowa. Iowa City in 1974, they were still using these cameras in the student-studio, at the “Old Armoury,” where I learned my first chops…we were told they were among the earliest prototypes, developed by RCA at U of Iowa’s School Of Engineering…
