More Of The Eyes Of A Generation Collection…
On the left, an RCA TK42 and on the right, the last RCA monochrome studio camera, the TK60. Both have a 5 inch Image Orthicon inside. That I know of, there are only 15 TK42s left and only 3 TK43s, which is the same as the TK42, but with an external lens. Enjoy and share! -Bobby Ellerbee
We had RCA TK42’s at my last assignment in the USAF (Tinker AFB, AeroSpace Audio-VIsual Services). They fed three huge RCA 2-inch quadriplex recording/editing machines. There was no need to heat the building during the winter!
TK42 was the first color camera I worked with. I also ran a TK60 at the Dade County school board.
Amazing collection!
What is the size of your room Bobby? It must create a traffic problem in movements to show off just one camera for a photographer.
I had always thought they were four and a half inches.
Sure hope you have a sturdy floor: there’s nothing light about any of that equipment!
