Picture Parade #6…76 Trombones And A Cameraman!
Now you know the secret. Back in the early days of portable cameras, this is how they hid the cameraman in the big parades. This Macy’s shot reminds me that The Rose Parade is just a few days away. If any of you are working that, bowl game or Times Square, send us your rehearsal and facilities check pictures. Enjoy and share! -Bobby Ellerbee
Dennis Degan……. Dennis, have you ever been on detail wearing full back pack and walking and jogging 5 miles? The PC 90 was not that heavy but was cumbersome.
… giggle… where is the clip?… LOL
Russell
Are you sure it’s Al ?
I have no doubt
I never knew him as a “MINI” Op
Worked on Pageants and the Tonys with Al.
When Clark Jones was directing….
PCP 90 with Back Pack
I ran one once under a Basketball Backboard
The pack we kept in a little Red Wagon
TKP 45 no BackPack
Not fun ….
Can you hear his vertebrae creaking?
This is how they all broke their backs too. They had Dick run Round backwards on Sha Na Na with one of these monsters….
It appears that he’s attempting to adjust the pointing direction of a microwave transmitting antenna, which can be seen behind and above his head.
I can’t imagine how heavy all that equipment is. It looks painful!
That’s Al Camoin
