Preparing Studio 6B For The Return Of The Tonight Show (B)
Several months back, Jimmy Fallon moved to 6A so that crews could do a major overhaul of 6B before the ‘Tonight Show’ moved back to New York. For many years, the column you see in the photo on the right had been a problem. Johnny Carson’s desk sat almost directly in front of it, so it wasn’t that big a problem for that set, but as you know, other shows use the studio too and working around it was sometimes difficult. In the photo on the right, you can see a dark square on the floor where the column used to be as it is now gone and replaced by a cross beam support. If only those walls could talk!
I want to see Leno, if not on NBC then on FOX
