Remember ABC’s White Cameras?
ABC veteran cameraman Don ‘Peaches’ Langford is pictured here on one of his first assignments in the mid 60s. He’s shooting the top of a ski run from about a mile away, and notice the lens. It’s not a Zoomar…it’s a telescope lens with no zoom and the focus was done manually. The camera is an RCA TK10.
Yes I do. And I have met Peaches. Thanks for the memory!
Also, note the heat lamp…
The box is a Motorola radio. I have a white TK 30 from KGO tv in my collection. It is restored and works. It is the first camera I ever ran in high school! We used the KGO truck to televise our college baseball game. I ran low center home.
When LBJ’s daughter got married in the Rose Garden, ABC painted all the lights white.
Motorola two-way radio.
What’s the box under the tripod?
…it’s really wild to see how ABC took many of their TK-10’s and painted them white ! !
