The location of the three studios was inside New York City’s Wanamaker’s Department Store. Here is the announcement in a few magnified parts and a couple of photos of the huge main studio it’s control room.
I’ve heard interviewees speak about this early studio on Emmy Legends Interviews.
I believe famed sports director, Harry Coyle worked at Dumont after leaving the service and his bomber in 1945.
I alway love history of DuMont; maker of the World’s heaviest television equipment. But I gotta say: that set creeps me out.
I saw some newsreel footage of the Wanamakers fire. Holy crackers!
