The Beginning Of The End For NBC Burbank…October 10, 2007
Some seven years ago, NBC’s Brian Williams broke the news…perhaps a “slow jam” version would have been easier to take. When Jay Leno left the air, and Studio 11, NBC’s last daily network operation ended in Burbank. ‘Days Of Our Lives’ and ‘Access Hollywood’, which are owned by NBC, are still there, but it’s their production companies that rent space in the building and not NBC. Beautiful downtown Burbank will never be the same.

NBC Universal plans to sell much of its 34-acre site in “beautiful downtown Burbank,” the longtime home of “The Tonight Show,” and move operations to Univers…
Fascinating, end of an era. Ed McMahon used to say “From Hollywood, it’s The Tonight Show, starring Johnny Carson.” Even though it was 3000 West Alameda Ave. in Burbank.
Before the new food service company takes over and opens it, supposedly before month’s end.
The commissary is boarded up and undergoing renovation before the new food service company
It’s called moving with the cheese. Visited the new KNBC and NBC offices a few weeks ago. The place is boring, sterile and has no soul whatsoever. Absolute shame!!!!
at youtube are some great behind the scene clips of NBC. type: steve allen, steve and eydie singing….
The NBC logo was taken down last year… the name of the complex is now “BURBANK STUDIOS”.
understand too that the ‘famed’ commissary is boarded up, and food trucks come into the midway. Eeeeyyyy!!!
I guess it shows my age since I remember the phrase “beautiful downtown Burbank” fondly.
