The Special Effects Lesson…More Classic Letterman
On March 17, 1983, Dave takes a walk down the hall to NBC’s Studio 6A control room for a demonstration of some of the video effects the show uses. Director Hal Gurnee is there along with Emmy winning TD Terry Rohnke. This was episode 24 of season 2. Enjoy and share!

This was back when the show was genuinely funny and creative.
So why can’t they still do stuff like this from time to time. Steve Allen did this sort of thing throughout his whole career. Dave is at his best when he wings it and has fun. The current show does not give one that impression.
