‘All In The Family’ Weekly Run Down…
Here’s a great television artifact from of of it’s biggest shows. As you can see, the show taped on Tuesday nights, which I think stayed constant at both Television City and Metromedia. Enjoy and share!
I wonder if ‘Studio # C2″ refers to one of the rehearsal studios at TVC, which much later became operational TV studios 56 and 58?
Marco Zappia (recently deceased) was one of the first editors on “All in the Family”. In his book, he describes an event at TV City (quote taken from a review): “Early in the book, Zappia tells a story about a family from the Midwest who visited Hollywood in hopes of seeing a live taping of “All in the Family.” Unable to get tickets, they were left standing outside the studio. Zappia brought them into the editing room, and not only did they watch the taping on his monitors, but they learned from an Emmy winning editor how one of the best shows in history was put together.”. This was the true Marco we knew. I am in regular communication with his wife, Carole Ann. We all miss Marco and thank him for his contributions to the industry.
