Super Bowl VII…Christina Skaggs…Up, Up And Away For CBS
You may remember Christina best from her days behind the camera on “The Match Game”.
As one of the few women in television at this level, she got some interesting assignments outside the studio too. Here she is in 1973 ready to get the aerial shots from the Goodyear Blimp in Los Angeles. Enjoy and share! -Bobby Ellerbee
I don’t remember your father Charles – this was CBS TVC in LA – maybe he was in NY or just in the field. One time we were up it was very windy and we got blown all over the place. The pilot was worried we’d blow into a power line and we had to come down. He let me fly it. Long hours up there between rehearsals and show time.
My father, Bob Chin, worked for CBS and was in TV Field Maintenance for close to 50 years. At one event, he was able to go up in the Goodyear blimp for a test flight and “flew” the blimp. I think I still have his souvenir blimp pilot pin. I was very envious.
