Picture Parade 5…Seasons Greetings From The ‘Kukla, Fran & Ollie’ Crew
Thanks to John Schipp, here’s card from the men that brought the nation one of the top shows of the day, live from WMAQ in Chicago. I think Bruce Berquist is on Camera 3 in the top left corner. This was one of the first Zoomar lenses used in television and although it is the 27 element field lens, made for outdoor use, it worked just fine on KFO. Enjoy! -Bobby Ellerbee
I have been in the studio (prior to the demise of the NBC flagship studios in the Merchandise Mart) It was a small studio between a larger studi and a freight elevator (one of the original 39 they built for radio in that facility) They would do KFO, roll the cameras out to the adjacent studio for a live car spot. While that went on the KFO studio was struk and reset for the Fransuah’ Pope “Creative Cookery” show (next up, live. roll the cameras back in. when I was there in May of ’70 (class tour) it had been re-utilized as the announce booth for TV.
