Up Close And Personal…Vinyl Records Like We’ve Never Seen Them
It still amazes me that when you put a record on the turntable and place the tone arm on it, you get sound. These are electron microscope photos at 100X and 1000X magnification. I thought you might be as fascinated by these as I was. Enjoy and share! -Bobby Ellerbee
Mind … Blown
These are so awesome
Amazing.
These are great pictures. Not sure how I can transfer such knowledge to my grandkids.
Amazing it works at all. Let alone that with over 100 years worth of tweaking it to make it better, vinyl is still considered by many to be in contention as a high resolution music source. Which it certainly can be at it’s best.
Cool. Thanks for sharing.
I guess we’re all “in the groove” with this one.
I really enjoyed this article with photos! 🙂
You scratched my record. Lol
Fascinating to see.
Don’t forget analog video played with a needle on records/discs too. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitance_Electronic_Disc
Thank Thomas Edison.
And only one groove! Quality of the recording is greatest at the edge and declines toward the center. But that’s just physics.
Looked at a one inch video head once. Equally impressive.
Analogue rules!
