Sightseeing #1…’Another World’, NBC Brooklyn 1990
Thanks to Anthony Torre, here’s a something we don’t often see…NBC’s Ikegami cameras. This was at the Brooklyn Studios and I think that’s an HK 322, but I’m not positive. With this in mind, up next is a 1990 trip to ‘Today’ and a look at their Ikegamis. Enjoy and share! -Bobby Ellerbee
These were the Cameras NBC acquired for use on the The Cosby Show as the Director Jay Sandrich Could Not Stand the Picture Quality or Color of the RCA Cameras the first Season of the Cosby Show Taping there was a Remote Truck from All Mobile Video used to provide the cameras till NBC got there Own Ikegami cameras
The Jay Sandrich Ikegamis …
Could also be an HK-323. Loved using that model for Sports as it was lightweight for set up and tear down at venues.
What show is this? A soap?
I worked at NBC Brooklyn on two occasions, filling in doing video maintenance in 1978. It was an amazing facility; so sad that it’s practically abandoned now.
The NBC cameras are fantastic!
