Christina Skaggs And ‘Tattletales’…Photo And Video
At the very start of this video clip of ‘Tattletales’, you’ll see the crane shot from this camera operated by Christina Skaggs. Here she in high on her Chapman Electra behind the set for that opening shot.
There is better quality video of this show, but this is a wildly unique clip from ‘Tattletales’. The show’s regular host was Bert Convy, but in this episode, Jack Narz is hosting with Bert playing the game with other daytime game show hosts, Richard Dawson and Bob Barker and…their wives.
I have not seen this show since it was on (’74-78 and ’82-84) and had forgotten how much fun it was to see these husband and wife teams together. Thanks for the pictures Christina and for reminding us of ‘Tattletales’! Enjoy and share! – Bobby Ellerbee
There’s actually a TT fee plug segment on youtube:

Hey Bobby, you have a photo in your site (might be All In The Family) that shows the studio floor still painted Red, Yellow and Blue…
Seeing Jack and Gene reminds me of the best vacation relief job I ever had and part of the excitement was shooting ‘Beat The Clock’. for Goodson-Todman. However the show was not taped in New York or LA but at CFCF-TV in Montreal. I can still hear director Ira Skutch screaming at us. We used 4 Marconi MKVII’s. Jack gave up the hosting gig as flying from LA to Montreal wasn’t worth it for him and Gene took over as host. The after shoot parties at the bar at the Sheraton-Mt. Royal were the stuff of legend.

I loved watching TT and He Said She Said as a kid – don’t know if it shows it on the youtube video, but they also used the crane shot for the ticket plug and the fee plugs in the middle of the show (I LOVED the music they used for those), and again in the credits.
I think the predecessor to Tattle Tales was “He Said She Said” out of NBC NY as a syndicated show from Goodson Toddman. Joe Garragiola was the host.
Where were the wives located off set, and how many total cameras were required to shoot this show?
As a fan of vintage game shows, I’ve seen more than a few eps. of “Tattletales”….I could’ve sworn there were a few times that the intro shot looked like it was being reflected off a circular mirror. I guess I just couldn’t realize that they COULD get a crane back there!
And Christina has brought with her some of the best “war stories” I’ve seen on this page!!! She’s clearly proud of her time in the business, and appreciative of her colleagues and predecessors. Seeing how things were done back then never gets old, especially for folks like me who were either too young, or not even born yet, when all this TV history was being made!
Here’s one for the “Banana section”http://youtu.be/4TdBcZ1t8Sk
