The Glenn Mack Photos…A Small Sample Of Things To Come
This is a gorgeous photo of NBC Studio 6B taken by Glenn Mack shortly after ‘The Tonight Show’ moved to California. Just behind the RCA TK44, who’s tally lights are lit, would have been where Johnny’s desk and guests would have been. More on Glenn and more of his stunning photos tomorrow, but in the mean time, enjoy!
What a great shot. I am looking forward to more from Mr. Mack’s photos!
Great pic. In its WNBC days that corner was a) stagehands storage b) home of a 1st generation 12-screen projection monitor and c) its best use – where the weather folks hung out with their computers, monitors and info. Also is where the back door to the studio is, an shortcut from the old commissary 1 floor above to the studio via the fire stairs.
awesome
The column in the background is about to be removed. Currently, it supports the lighting equipment room above on the 7th floor. This column also supports the floor of Studio 8G above. The lighting room is being moved to another area on the 7th floor in what once was part of the commissary kitchen. The ‘new’ Studio 6B will be larger than it ever had been for its entire history.
