By Request…The Creation Of The CBS Eye Logo
Told in a way only Charles Osgood can tell it, here is the story of how the iconic CBS logo came to be for Joe Berdosco in Nashville. If you have stories or subjects you would like to know more about, let me know in the Comment section here, or message me. -Bobby Ellerbee
As a kid, I coveted those CBS logo curtains at Television City.
Never knew that until now.
Thanks, Mike. The CBS Alumni would like this story.
Was the Chiming that went with the NBC Logo, I was told this was actually a Cue Tone, used to automatically make some type of switch or pre-roll. Cue Tones later became inaudible. Do you have any insight here from a previous posting?
I would kill for a CBS neck tie. I also remember the CBS logo cuff links Captain Kangaroo wore.
They even made CBS Eye lapel pins. I’ve had this for years.
As usual Outstanding
I remember well, when I worked in CBS affiliates, the 5 second “this is CBS” logo was the perfect pre-roll cue for the local VTR spots.
