‘Peter Pan’…Behind The Scenes #4

‘Peter Pan’…Behind The Scenes #4

Most of these pix are from our friend Charlie Huntley, who was on Camera 11 last night. As we’ll see, 11 is hidden behind the wall in Wendy’s bedroom which was a 360 degree set that opened up for the flying scenes. I think that was the only true 360 set, but the the Jolly Roger set was close with only the front side open.

We’ll start with a great look at the Jolly Roger and how that was shot. In the first big picture, you see the camera wall that got all of the head on shots like the one we see of the Hook crew dancing. More details on the pictures so be sure and click through. That’s all for now, but later in the day, I am expecting more pix. Thanks to Charlie, Rob and all the others who have contributed. Everyone did a great job last night and we ALL thank you! Enjoy and share! -Bobby Ellerbee

Fun to see longtime f/l camera John Mikeljohn in a Peter Pan musical. Think of the lyrics to “I’m Flying” and you’ll smile.

I thought everyone did a great job and it is great a show of this size came off fabulously. I saw only the first half hour and my only minor criticism was a couple of minutes in from the top when the mother was singing in the bedroom at the closed big window looking out to the exterior there wasn’t “perspective audio” when shot from the exterior camera looking into the bedroom. Everyone did a fabulous job !!!!!! Fun to watch !!!!

Since it’s NBC, is Charlie Huntley any relation to Chet Huntley?

Here’s Charlie Huntley at another position with Camera 11.

Camera 11’s position would be just to the right of the mantle…as you will see in these photos, it is hidden behind the wall. We see Charlie Huntley (who ran 11) standing at the end of the mantle (in the back) taking a look from about where his camera is hidden. There was a small wall hanging on that side of the mantle with what looks like one one way glass. Very slick camouflage but very hard to shoot from there…all you can do is pan, and not very far.
