Although all three networks were on the air reporting furiously, this image of this man in this moment is the one most remembered.

    I was 6 years old then. Old enough to know that this was a very bad thing that happened, but not old enough to understand why. But I remember it well.

    I agree. Walter Cronkite was “America’s Anchorman” in 1963. I watched the CBS coverage …. because that was the only network that we could receive.
