I’ve Got A Secret: Philo T. Farnsworth, 1957…Here is the True Father of Electronic Television. Let that sink in. It was Mr. Farnsworth that managed the task on September 7, 1927, at his shop in San Francisco. Not RCA! Not Zworykin! Not Sarnoff! It was Philo T. Farnsworth.
I can imagine if this show was Australian the cigarette brand would likely be Winfield instead of Winston and the host would say “Here’s ya pack of Winnie blues mate!” lol But getting serious now I like most who appreciate Farnsworth and his work think he should of gotten a much more decent and dignified award than just a pack of smokes, he should of been presented with an television sculpted trophy with his name engraved on it and a message of appreciation for his work!
Fantastic look into the past and Farnsworth’s look into the future !!
What a reward: cigarettes!
Nice. About 7 minutes in he starts talking about the future, mentioning HD, Flat screens and frame memory. In 1957!
