Tour Of Duty…Remembering Roy Holm, NBC Burbank

Last week when the ‘Elvis’ comeback special story ran here, Roy Holm was pictured in that photo array. Our friend David Crosthwait posted more pictures of Roy that I am sharing here. He was one of NBC’s top cameramen and a multiple EMMY winner. Enjoy. -Bobby Ellerbee


This is a ‘Hallmark Hall of Fame’ production of “Elizabeth the Queen.” It was done in Burbank and here again, we see his unique inside zoom demand setup.

This the photo from last week’s story on the Elvis comeback special. As mentioned, this TK41 has the Conrac monitor VF cobbled to replace the original which was badly damaged.

‘The Dom Deloise Show’ (left to right), Harry Blake, Dom Delouise, Dean Martin, Roy and Greg Garrison. Garrison directed the Deloise and Dean Martin shows, all the Martin Roasts and much more. He started with Kate Smith and ‘Your Show of Shows’. WOW!

    That was the Beast for sure. Notice the turret with lens of different lenght. My first was a TK 41AM b&w. Later TK-44.
